Numerous Contracts Offered During Executive Session

Numerous certified, extra-duty, and support staff contracts were offered, as well as, resignations accepted at the executive session meeting on May 15, 2007.
Jenna Dial and Lisa Clark were offered teacher contracts for the 2007-08 school year.  Clark’s contract is contingent on her obtaining a provisional certificate prior to the start of the school year. Dial also received an extra-duty contract as MS Assistant Softball Coach for the 2007-08 school year.
John Weaver was awarded extra-duty contracts as Co-Head MS Football Coach and Head Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach for the 2007-08 school year.  Craig Miller and Mark Hunolt were offered contracts as Junior High MS Boys’ Basketball Coaches for the 2007-08 school year.  Staci English received an extra-duty contract as MS Assistant Track Coach for the 2007-08 school year.
The Board of Education voted to pay Cindy Gunter for the MS Student Council Sponsorship for the 2006-07 school year at the appropriate salary schedule.   They also voted to raise substitute teacher pay to $75 per day, to establish an attendance incentive for the paraprofessionals at an amount of $40 per day and to increase bus driver salaries 5% for the 2007-08 school year.
Support staff contracts as a paraprofessional were offered to Myrna Franke, Dawn McCauley, Janee Morgret, Kathy Wever, Myrna Bradley, Genel Ellison, Estalene Eyler, Shelley Fox, Deanne Perry and Chris Sutton for the 2007-08 school year. A letter of non-renewal was issued to Brenda Strange as recommended by the administration. 
Kathy Palmer and Brianna Couch were awarded contracts as school nurse with a 5% raise for the 2007-08 school year.  Both contracts are contingent upon the renewal of the health grant.
Steve Blodgett received a contract as Technology Coordinator for the 2007-08 school year at the designated salary.   Debra Harrison also received a contract as Technology Assistant with a 7% increase for the 2007-08 school year.
Bus driver contracts for the 2007-08 school year were offered to Rhonda Cardwell, Bill Cheatum, Gene Farris, Leroy Hall, Margaret Lee Hall, Kay Mallett, Vickie Miller, Sam Shoults, Scott Wolter and Dean Woods.  Phil Gragg received the contract as bus mechanic with a 5% salary increase.  He will have the additional duty of plugging in the buses during the winter months.
Kay Stice was awarded the contract as Food Service Director with a 5% salary increase for the 2007-08 school year.  Food service contracts were received by Linda Baker, Julie Campbell, Betsy Glasgow, Marilyn Hopkins and Terese Tarpein.
The following secretaries were offered contracts for the 2007-08 school year: Kathy Turner, Joni Bryant, Marsha Burton, Alicia Myers and Clara Nichols.
Prior to adjournment, the Board accepted with regrets the resignations of Janice Wilkerson and Connie Miller to be effective at the end of their 2006-07 contracts.   They also accepted with regret a letter of resignation submitted by Mary Ann Yoakum announcing her retirement at the end of her 2006-07 contract.
