2007 Knox County 4-H/FFA Art Hall Awards & Trophies


   Early in the 2007 Fair week, ninety-one 4-H and FFA members entered 414 exhibits in the Art Hall.

   Awards and trophies were awarded on Monday evening, July 9.

   Art Hall winners are:

   Photography I trophy is sponsored by Gail Hustead and awarded to Bryce Cardwell of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club.

   Photography II and III is sponsored by the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club and is awarded to Gabe McCauley of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club.

   Visual Arts –11 Years and under trophy is sponsored by Lynn and Nancy Douglas and Shannon and is awarded to Brandon Schrage of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club.

   Visual Arts -12 years and over trophy is sponsored by Liberty Leaders 4-H Club and is awarded to Bridgett Barnard of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club.

   Foods and Nutrition trophy is sponsored by Jack and Laura Snelling and is awarded to Brittney Miller of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club.

   Geology I Trophy is sponsored by Northeast Missouri Family Health Clinic is awarded to Abby Hall of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Geology II and over Trophy is sponsored by Doss Funeral Home and is awarded to Olivia Strange of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Woodworking I Trophy is sponsored by Mayer Construction and is awarded to Bryce Cardwell of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club.

   Edina Farm and Home Supply, Inc sponsors the Woodworking II Trophy. This year’s recipient is Evan Cardwell of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club.

   Woodworking III and over Trophy is sponsored by Wanda Peterson and was not awarded.

   Welding Trophy is sponsored by Hayes Auto supply and awarded to John Greenley of the FFA Chapter.

   Computer Trophy is sponsored by New Century Computers and is awarded to Jessen Miller of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club.

   Vegetable Gardening trophy is sponsored by Lester and Mary Ellis and is awarded to Daniel Parrish of the South Side Roadrunners 4-H Club.

   Country Cured Ham trophy is sponsored by Allen and Martha Gudehus. This year’s recipient is Brandon Gudehus of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Horse Trophy is sponsored by Hamlin Quarter Horses and is awarded to Alex Hamlin of the County Liners 4-H Club.

   Beginning Cake Decorating trophy is sponsored by Cathy Greenley and is awarded to Abby Hall of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Advance Cake Decorating trophy is sponsored by Quentin and Ann Greenley and is awarded to Meagan Hunolt of the County Liners 4-H Club.

   Entomology II trophy is sponsored by D Cars Inc. and is awarded to Jessen Miller of the Liberty Leaders 4-H club.

   Clothing and Textiles trophy is sponsored by Heartland Community Church and is awarded to Emily See of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Shooting Sports Trophy is sponsored by Bill and Mary Woods and is awarded to Brandon Gudehus of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Sports Fishing Trophy is sponsored by Karen, Kari, Kyle Hall and Logan Garrett and is awarded to Katelyn Stauffer of the South Side Roadrunners 4-H Club.

   Aerospace Trophy is sponsored by Edina Lumber & Hardware and the recipient of this year’s trophy is Justin Scott of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Beef Trophy is sponsored by Dan and Brenda Niemeyer. This year the trophy is awarded to Jordin Luthenauer of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Dairy Cattle Trophy is sponsored by The Heartland Community Church. The trophy is awarded to Dakota of the Heartland 4-H Club.

   Heartland Christian Academy is proud to sponsor the Dog Care Trophy. This year’s recipient is Jordin Luthenauer of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Goat Trophy is sponsored by the Heartland Community Church. This trophy is awarded to Dion of the Heartland 4-H Club.

   Veterinary Science Trophy is sponsored by Dr. Jenny Lindquist. This year’s recipient is Hannah Strange of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Sheep Trophy is sponsored by the Heartland 4-H Club and is awarded to Gracie Hunziker of the Southside Roadrunners 4-H Club.

   Rabbit Trophy is sponsored by Novelty Feed and Seed, Ray and Pat Griffith and is awarded to Jordin Luthenauer of the Colony 4-H Club. ,

   Poultry Trophy is sponsored by the Heartland Egg Farm and is awarded to Jordin Luthenauer of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Swine Trophy is sponsored by the Heartland 4-H Club and is awarded to Emily See of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Farm Bureau Home Economics Trophy is sponsored by Knox County Farm Bureau. This trophy is awarded to a over-all high point member 12 years of age and over in the in the following projects: Child Development, Clothing, Knitting, Crochet, Foods, Foods Preservation, Home Environment and Horticulture. This year’s winner is Brittney Miller of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club.

   Knox County Family Community Education Home Economics Trophy is awarded to an over-all high point member 11 years of age and younger in the following projects: Child Development, Clothing, Knitting, Crochet, Foods, Foods Preservation, Home Environment and Horticulture. This year’s recipient is Devin Gudehus of the Colony 4-H Club.

   Through the generous contributions of friends and family of Genevieve Campbell, a memorial fund was established. A $50 Savings Bond will be awarded to a 4-H or FFA member who exhibits in the Art Hall at the 2007 fair. Selection for this award is through a drawing. This year’s recipient is Caitlee Hall of the Colony 4-H Club.  Ann Sue Campbell presented her the bond.

   Shultz Traveling Trophy is sponsored in honor of Pat Shultz. This trophy is awarded to the club with the highest percentage of members exhibiting at the fair in the Art Hall division. This trophy will stay with the winning club until the next year’s fair. This year the winning club with 83 % of their members exhibiting is the Colony 4-H Club. Twenty out of 24 members exhibited in the art hall this year.

   A $100 Savings Bond for the overall woodworking project is awarded to the top woodworking exhibit. This trophy is sponsored in honor of a114-H and FFA Grandparents. This year’s recipient is Evan Cardwell of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club.

   Mike Wilson is proud to sponsor the Over-all Needlework/Craft Savings Bond. The bond is presented to a member with the best overall needlework/craft exhibit. This year’s recipient is Suzanne Howerton of the South Side Roadrunners 4-H Club.

   Watkins Best Over-all First Year Foods award is presented to a member who is exhibiting for the first time as a 4-H member. The award is a basket of Watkins products sponsored by Patty Townsend, Watkins Representative. This year’s recipient is Laura of the Heartland 4-H Club.

   A $50 Savings Bond is sponsored in Memory of Francis Early to the member selected with the overall outstanding clothing & textiles exhibit. This year’s recipient is Emily See of the Colony 4-H Club.
