KC Promotional Council Meets; Has Yet to Appoint Officers

Submitted by Monica Zahn

The Knox County Promotional Council met on Tuesday, October 16th at the 4-H Extension Office.  The group reviewed the end of year report for the 2007 Corn Festival.  It was noted that all committees stayed within budget and that this year’s Corn Festival was a success.
Elections for the 2008 KCPC officers were discussed.  We currently have openings for all KCPC board positions – President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and three board member positions. After much discussion, these board positions still remain unfilled.  It was agreed to postpone election of officers until Monday, October 29th.  The meeting will be held at the 4-H Extension Office at 6:30 pm.  At that time we will also be filling positions for the following committees:  children’s games, stage entertainment, craft and food vendors, grounds entertainment, traffic control, parade, t-shirt design, royalty, raffle donations, information tent, beer garden, parade, and decorations.   If you know of anyone interested in serving as an officer or on a committee, please have him or her attend this very important meeting.
The KCPC meets the last Tuesday of each month and will hold its first meeting for the 2008 Corn Festival on November 27th.
