Knox County Chamber Plans Trivia Challenge

Knox County Chamber Plans Trivia Challenge

By Carol Kincaid

One of the main topics of the February 13 meeting of the Knox County Area Chamber of Commerce was the upcoming Trivia Challenge.  The project is one of the largest fund-raisers for the organization, and is headed up by project chair Debbie Edwards.  Debbie is always grateful for any prize donations or assistance in planning the event.
The Closet Trivia Challenge is tentatively set for Saturday, April 12, at the Legion Hall.  There was some discussion about who should be the recipient of the portion of the proceeds from the annual event.  Historically a portion of the proceeds from the Trivia event have gone to benefit one of the volunteer organizations in the County (i.e. fire departments, rescue squad, etc.)  This year it was suggested that the Chamber might designate the funds for the molded chairs used by the community for Cornfest and other occasions.
One of the other main topics for discussion was the designs for the flags for each Chamber member, denoting their membership.
Wanda Gragg asked about the "Welcome to Knox County" coupons put together by the Chamber businesses, whether they were to be given to anyone who changed residences, or to new county residents.  The Chamber agreed the coupons were to go to new residents only, thereby encouraging new people to support local businesses.
A few other matters were discussed prior to adjournment.
The next scheduled meeting of the Chamber is scheduled for March 3 or March 5 at Sugar Bear’s Café in Edina.
