The first annual Scott Allen Childress “For the Love of the Game” Memorial Golf Tournament has been scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Kirksville Country Club in Kirksville, MO.
Registration for the four-person, 18-hole scramble begins at 11:00 a.m. and a shot-gun tee-off will begin at 11:30 a.m. The registration fee of $240 includes green fees, lunch, a participation favor and four drink tickets. The deadline for registering is June 20.
All tournament proceeds will be donated to the Scott Childress Memorial Fund providing scholarship opportunities for career bankers and opening golf opportunities for youth.
“We are excited to be able to honor Scott’s life by having friends and family partake in the game that he loved, while raising money for the causes closest to his heart,” said Becky Childress. “As an avid golfer and a banker by profession, Scott touched many lives by expressing his passions in life. The money you donate through your sponsorship and registration fee will be used to provide scholarships for golf related activities and continued education in the banking field. Your participation and donation will help keep the memory of Scott Childress alive and his love for the game thriving.”
Scott Childress was president of The Citizen’s Bank of Edina and an avid golfer. He was a member of Missouri Bankers Association as well as the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina.
