Brett Bryant Named To MHSBCA Academic All State Baseball Team

Knox County Eagle first baseman Brett Bryant has been named to the 2008 Missouri Baseball Coaches Association Class 1 Academic All-State Baseball Team. Brett Bryant led the 2008 Tri-Rivers Conference baseball champion Eagles with a .500 batting average in his junior season.

Incoming senior Brett Bryant is currently the top ranked student of the KCHS Class of 2009 academically. His weighted grade point average stands at 11.36 on an 11 point scale or about a 4.13 on a four point scale.

The converted second baseman scored a 33 on the ACT test. He scored 12 runs and drove in 11 more on the field during the recently completed season. Bryant was second on the team in on base percentage to all stater Daniel McMahon (.585) with a .550 on base percentage.

Brett Bryant was previously named to the 2008 Tri-Rivers All Conference first team. He was also an all district pick along with making the 2008 Kirksville Daily Express and Quincy Herald-Whig All Area Baseball Teams.

Brett Bryant was the only area player on the 2008 Class 1 or Class 2 academic all state baseball team. Kirksville landed three players on the Class 3 team and Hannibal had one selection. Kirksville was the second ranked team in Class 3 in terms of overall grade point average.

William Feiner, Colten Schmitz and Travis Eagen represented Kirksville High School and Raymond Chou was named to the elite academic and athletic unit representing the Hannibal Pirates.
