Local Students Nominated For National Scholarship Program

Mr. Andy Turgeon, principal of Knox County R-1 High School, announced that Kasey Douglas and Brett Bryant have been nominated to compete in the National Honor Society scholarship sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

High school National Honor Society chapters from across the country were eligible to nominate two seniors to compete. Brett and Kasey were selected based on their leadership skills, participation in service organizations and clubs, achievements in the arts and sciences, employment experience, and academic record. They are also required to write an essay. Two hundred national NHS winners will be chosen this spring to receive $1,000 college scholarships.
