FCE Hosts Senior Tea

On Thursday, May 7th, 2009 the National Association for Family and Community Education (FCE), hosted the annual Senior Tea. The Knox County FCE President, Nena Plamer, welcomed Knox County senior girls, their mothers, grandmothers, and other special guests to the High School cafeteria.
The National Association for Family and Community Education is a volunteer organization dedicated to ways of preserving good in our society. The local FCE brings together a small group of people with common interests.  Support and information from State and National FCE Conferences, and trained leaders help each local FCE group set and meet goals for the strengthening of the families and communities where they live.
The girls were announced by Mrs. Nena Palmer and Mrs. Pam Franke, and showed off their dazzling Prom dresses with a style show.  Soon after, Karisha Delvin, the Agricultural Business Specialist, gave an informational speech to the crowd on the importance of setting goals, and the support they receive from family and friends. Next all seniors and their company were given door prizes provided by local individuals and business.
Refreshments, provided by the Green Acres FCE, were then offered to their guests. The girls were encouraged to take pictures with their families and friends, and visit with other guests.  
The senior girls treasured the time spent together and enjoyed one of their last annual events before graduation.
