Congratulations Knox Co. Graduates

Knox County R-1 School District graduated the 2010 Senior Class on Sunday afternoon, May 24th, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Knox County High School Auditorium. A gathering of friends and family members of the Class of 2010 filled the auditorium in support of the seniors.
The Senior Class sponsors were Judy Shultz and Diane Tucker. Their motto is “Remember yesterday, dream for tomorrow, live for today”, the class’s colors are mint green and chocolate brown. The class elected the lily to represent the Class’s flower. The 2010 Senior Class Officers are Joshua Clark, President, Katie Ausmus, Vice-president, Rebecca Mallett, Treasurer, and Myra Parrish, Secretary.
The procession of the Senior class was “Pomp and Circumstance”’ preformed by Mrs. Cheryl Newland.
Introductions of Board members were made by high school principal Andy Turgeon. Following Mr. Turgeon’s introduction a welcoming speech was given by Senior Class president Joshua Clark.
The Senior Class performed the song “We Laughed Until We Cried”, the class song was followed by a speech by class Valedictorian Katie Ausmus.
The student-elected featured speaker of the event was Knox County teacher and coach Jesse Crawford.
The Knox County Honor Choir performed “Maybe Someday” for their graduating peers; which was followed by the performance of “Omnia Sol” sung by the Knox County Honor Choir and Alumni. A video featuring the 2010 Class was also played for the attendants of the ceremony.
Knox County High School Guidance Counselor Jami Minter announced the Presentation of Honors and congratulated seniors on their academic achievement.
The anticipated Presentation of Diplomas then began with Principal Andy Turgeon announcing the students of the class and School Board President Shelly Bugh presenting the diplomas to the following youth; Kayla Anderson, Katherine Ausmus, Shelby Bailey, Brandy Boecker, Brady Bugh, Joshua Clark, Christian Deem, Whitney Dixson, Kayla Dooley, Anna Ewalt, Erica Gibson, Keenan Gillaspy, Bobi Jo Goodrich, Andrew Greenley, Adrienne Hamlin, Travis Hamlin, Benjamin Harder, David Hinkle, Allen Hisle, Jason Ingalls, Michael Jennings, Dana Johnson, Cameron Kirmse, Keanan Kite, Michelle Klataske, Devin Lingenfelter, Tristan Lonberger, Bailey Lowe, Rebecca Mallett, Mariah Mauck, Lance McMahon, Brittney Miller, Dylan Morgret, Myra Parrish, Cody Pegg, Lorrie Peters, Jodi Poore, James Rice, Brian Schrage, Sadie Schrage, Ethan Shahan, Shelby Snelling, Lindsey Watts, Amber Yates, and Tori Yoakum.
Proceeding the celebration of the students graduation the class began their recession to the tune of “Trumpet Voluntary” and proudly departed from their honored celebration.
