The Knox County Health Department’s fifth annual Drive-Through Flu Shot Clinic was deemed a success by organizers. 195 Flu shots were given including 60 High-Dose Flu shots to people 65 years old and older.
Truman nursing students, Newark Fire Rescue personnel, the Edina Police Department, the Edina Rescue Squad, the Knox County Emergency Management Director, Jim Robertson, and the Knox County Ambulance District volunteered their time to help at the Clinic.
Earlier in the month the Health Department and volunteers from NEMO Health administered 200 Flu shots at the Knox County R-1 School District vaccinating about one third of the students and teachers.
If you missed the Drive-Through Clinic you can still get a Flu shot from the Knox County Health Department. They will be administering the vaccine Tuesdays from 8:00am to 4:00 pm and Fridays from 8:00am to Noon at their office in Edina.
“We will continue to administer the vaccine until we run out.” Said Knox County Health Department Administrator, Lori Moots-Clair. “It’s never too late to get the vaccine.
