Knox Co. Boys Knock Off Coyotes In OT

Knox County was able to get to the free throw line 40 times and held off a gifted Paris Coyote team for a 70-65 overtime victory at Knox County. The contest was a February 16 rescheduled game.
Both teams ran the court. Knox County (7-12) pounded the ball at the imposing Coyote front line. Justin Reeves scored 13 of his 19 points during an 18-17 second quarter in favor of the home team.
The Eagles held a 37-30 halftime lead. Paris (10-9) fought back with a 21 point third quarter to a 51-50 lead at the three quarter pole. The Eagles got back on top.
Royce Poore sank a critical fourth quarter three ball. The Eagles opened the door for Paris to tie the game late with a 2-5 fourth quarter free throw shooting performance.
The Eagles went 11 for 17 from the free throw line in overtime. Knox County was able to defend without being whistled for fouls late in the game.
Paris had three starters foul out. Justin Reeves fouled out of the game in overtime.
Royce Poore led all scorers with 25 points. Justin Reeves scored 19 Eagle points. Leighton McCabe was the third Eagle in double figures with 12 points.
Brock Couch and Kellen Gillaspy scored five points each. Cole Sutton added four KCHS points.
Paris forward Cole Lockhart led the Coyotes with 13 points. Seth Nobis and Alex Thomas fired in 11 Paris points each. Kable Ragsdale and Matt Jeffers rounded out five Coyotes in double figures with ten points each.
