Everyone is anticipating this year’s annual Knox County Corn Festival, as they have every year for the last 24 years. This year, the 25th Anniversary, Corn Fest is packing its usual slew of attractions with a few extras, which are sure to give everyone something to look forward to.
As usual things like the parade and car, tractor, and quilt shows can be counted on along with musical entertainers throughout. Food vendors, games and contests like the annual Corn Fest Baby Contest and raffles are a given.
New this year is the highly anticipated Corn Fest Carnival, which will have rides for every age group. The Carnival will be open throughout the event. There will also be a “Chili Cook-Off” and “Reptile Experience” to name a few.
“We’ve been working hard for a couple years trying to find a carnival. That’s the thing I’m most trilled about is getting a carnival to come in for the weekend,” said Knox County Promotional Council President, Monica Zahn.
Each year for the past several years Corn Fest seems to have gotten bigger and better each year. The Knox County Promotional Council has put literally hundreds of hours into planning this year’s event.
“We have monthly meetings and start meeting weekly at the beginning of August. Not to mention everyone’s personal time they put in every year.” Said Zahn.
There is a flier in this week’s issue of The Edina Sentinel, which gives the times and locations of the different events and attractions offered at this year’s Knox County Corn Festival 25th Anniversary Celebration so be sure to check it out.
