Rx Pill Pick Up This Saturday

The Knox County Coalition Against Meth (KCCAM) and the Edina Police Department are hosting a prescription pill take back this Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Edina City Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Unused and unwanted prescriptions can be dropped off no questions asked.
This prescription pill take back event is in conjunction with the Department of Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) nationwide program to collect unused prescription drugs from homes in America.
According to KCCAM President Robert Becker, illegal prescription drug abuse is the fastest growing drug problem facing our young people today.
“Youth will take them from grandparents, parents and friend’s homes. If the prescriptions are unused people may not even notice them missing. We’re trying to curb that.” Said Becker. “That is the purpose of the program. To collect the unused or unwanted prescriptions before they can fall into the hands of our youth.”
Anyone interested in joining KCCAM is invited to attend any of the monthly luncheon meetings. They meet the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Pizza Haus.
