Knox County Country Club Closing Indefinitely

Knox County Country
Club Closing Indefinitely

By Echo Menges

According to an Knox County Country Club representative the country club is closing its doors indefinitely at the end of the first week of January 2012.
The decision to close was made because the excessive cost to heat the 42-year-old building for the winter can’t be sustained by membership dues and the restaurant’s income alone.
A new Board will be elected in the spring of 2012 and that Board of Directors will decide if and when the club can reopen.
The country club is remaining open through December to accommodate the many Christmas parties going on there during the month, though the restaurant has already been closed, and no reservations to use the country club for events or activities beyond January 6, 2012 are being taken.
