Knox County Offices

Filing for county offices began on Tuesday, February 28,
2012. Every county seat up for election has been filed for.
Incumbent Anita James (R) is signed up to run for Knox
County Assessor’s seat.
Incumbent Kathy Poore (D) is signed up for the Knox County
Public Administrators seat.
Incumbent Jeff Doss (D) signed up for the Knox County
Coroner seat.
Incumbent Terry “Red” Callahan (D) signed up for the Eastern
District Knox County Commissioner seat.
More than one candidate has filed for two seats.
Candidates Robert Becker (R) and Allen Gudehus (D) have
filed for the Knox County Sheriff’s seat. Sheriff Mike Kite (D) has decided not
to run for re-election this year.
Incumbent Terry Marble (D) and candidates David Hamlin (R),
Jim Parrish (R) and Roger Parton (D) have filed for the Western District Knox
County Commissioner seat.
One republican candidate and one democrat candidate will be
chosen for this race during the August 7, 2012 Primary Election.
Filing for the above mentioned Knox County offices
will be open to Knox County residents until Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Anyone
wishing to file for a Knox County office can do so at the Knox County Clerk’s
Office located in the courthouse.
