Road Map Not Required To Find Knox County Relay For Life

The two blocks north of Highway 6 on the west side of the square in Edina will become a beehive of activity on June 15th from 4:00 p.m. to midnight. The ACS Knox County Relay For Life participants will go “On The Road To A Cure” as we Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back for the 12th consecutive year.

The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with a Welcome, Invocation and singing of the Star Spangled Banner. The local American Legion/VFW Honor Guard will lead the Survivor’s Parade comprised of purple-clad heroes who have prevailed against cancer. Their family and friends will proudly walk with them on the second lap.

A variety of musical entertainment will be on going during the evening. The ten Relay teams will be on site to provide food, fun and games, which include the second Annual “Walkless Cake Walk”.

The Luminaria Ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. when all activities come to a stand still and tribute is paid to those who have survived and those who lost the battle.

The ever popular “Lip Sync” numbers will be performed at 10:30 p.m. by team participants. The Closing Ceremony will include a Donut and Coffee Breakfast. And evening of “Fun and Fundraising” promises to be one of our best ever events. Invite your friends and neighbors, bring your lawn chairs and come spend the night with us. In case of inclement weather, the Relay will be held in the Knox County Community Center.
