This week on Friday, November 30, 2012 the Knox County Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual “Knox County Christmas Celebration” in Edina. Events are planned all over town Friday afternoon and evening and everyone is welcome and encouraged to come out and enjoy the festivities.

The annual Craft & Gift Fair, Relay for Life’s Chocolate Tasting and Holiday Portraits by Hustead Photography will be held at the Knox County Community Center located on north of the Knox County Courthouse, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The venue will be packed with local crafters and vendors ready to welcome holiday shoppers. And Relay for Life’s holiday Chocolate Tasting, which has become a yearly tradition, will be back this year with even more delicious delights. Portraits will be taken on the stage, also at the Community Center, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Free Will Donation Soup Supper
Chamber members will supply an array of home made soups and the Momentum Youth Group will provide desserts. Both organizations are accepting freewill donations. The annual Soup Supper will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, which is located on East Lafayette Street south of the Knox County Courthouse.
Wine & Spirit Tasting
Several different kinds of wine and spirits will be available for people to try at the Edina C&R Market Liquor Depot from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. C&R Market is located at 500 North Main Street in Edina, a few blocks north of the courthouse.
Winter Wonderland & Wine Tasting With Hayrides

Hayrides will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The ride will take people around to the see light displays in Edina including the Winter Wonderland of Lights Display set up by the Hayes, McCarty and Waibel families in the southeast subdivision. This year a stop has been added to the ride for adults (21 years or older) who can take the hayride to C&R Market’s Liquor Depot where the Wine & Spirit Tasting is being held. Tours are expected to last approximately 20 minutes. Pick up will be on the northwest corner of Monticello and Fourth Streets, in front of the Knox County Community Center.

The Knox County Promotional Council is sponsoring Christmas cookie decorating 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (or until supplies run out) at the Life of Christ Church, which is east of the Community Center.
Santa himself will be there too to visit with boys and girls from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

“Chamber Bucks Drawing” buckets have been placed at various businesses throughout the county. The raffle is free to anyone who wants to sign up. At the end of the Knox County Christmas Celebration the names of five winners will be drawn at 8:00 p.m. at the Knox County Community Center. Each winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to be used at participating Chamber of Commerce businesses. Participants do not need to be present at the time of the drawing to win.
