Retired Police Officer Involved In Knox Shooting – Both Men Involved Made Calls To Sheriff’s Office During Incident

New information has been released to The Edina Sentinel concerning calls received by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the shooting in the southwest corner of the county.

A representative of KCSO has confirmed that a “trespassing” call was received by KCSO dispatch from Bill Bacon at 2:59 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, December 11, 2012.

And KCSO dispatch received a report of a shooting 13 minutes later at 3:12 p.m. by the alleged shooter, Glenn Head.

Glenn Head, who is a retired police officer from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, is still in the custody of the Adair County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

According to a statement released by the SLMPD Director of Public Information, David Marzullo, “Police Officer Glenn Head was employed by the SLMPD from September 1977 through October 1988, at which time he received an accidental disability retirement. These are the only available records.”

We are still waiting for information to be released from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control concerning the investigation.

“I am working on a press release. As soon as that is approved I will be sending it out,” said MSHP DDCC representative, Cpl. J. Erik Eidson.
