Support Knox Relay For Life This Friday, June 21

The Knox County Relay For Life Committee is sprinting toward the finish line as plans are finalized for the 13th Annual Event to be held June 21st on Main Street in Edina, MO. Nine teams are busy with fund raisers and planning menus for a variety of food that will be available at campsites on Friday evening.
Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with Welcome, Invocation and The National Anthem to be sung by David Sharp.
The Survivor Program will begin at approximately 6:15 p.m., with the Survivor Walk and Caregiver’s Walk to follow. Survivors should report to the Survivors tent and register when they arrive for the evening.
The Entertainment Committee reports several local musical groups and individuals will be on stage “Live From Knox County” from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Young performers will include The Assembly of God Band “Momentum” featuring Alison Averill, Kellen Gillaspy and Bryce Cardwell; also The Hoppe Kids; Amber Morgret and Holly Dye. Adult musicians will perform at 8:00 p.m. and will include Gary Fagan, the Hamlin Girl’s Trio and Lisa Blake.
The Luminaria Service will start at 9:00 p.m. with a short program and music, followed by the reading of the names and lighting of the candles.
The always enjoyable Lip Sync Contest performed by the Relay Teams will begin at 10:15 p.m.
Make plans to spend the evening in Edina; bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a fun event. The participation and support of the community is important to the success of this event.
