Knox City Man Wanted In Texas Child Sex Assault Case

According to Knox County Sheriff Allen Gudehus, on Thursday, April 3, 2014, Bruce Lee Alderman, 50, of Knox City was taken into custody by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office after turning himself in on a warrant out of Smith County, Texas.

According to Smith County, TX, newspaper, the Tyler Morning Telegraph, staff writer Kenneth Dean, Whitehouse (Texas) Police Chief Craig Shelton said his department was notified that Alderman was arrested in Missouri on a warrant his department obtained on an active case they are working for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Smith County is making arrangements to extradite Alderman back to Texas.

According to the Missouri Sex Offender Registry, alderman is listed as residing at 114 North Wade Street in Knox City. His prior offenses include two “assault with intent to commit sexual abuse” convictions in Charles City, IA, in January and May of 2005.

According to the Texas Sex Offender Registry, Alderman was required to register annually while living in Texas. He began registering as a sex offender in Texas in October of 2011 through February of 2014 when his status changed to show he relocated to Missouri.

Alderman is being held at the Lewis County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
