Soup Supper Fundraiser At Knox County Nutrition Site Saturday Oct. 11

There will be a freewill donation soup supper at the Knox County Nutrition Site in Edina on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Serving will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Soup, sandwiches and dessert will be served. Donations collected at the soup supper will be used to help support the site.

The Knox County Nutrition Site serves one meal a day on site or by delivery Monday through Saturday. Seniors who need a meal on Sunday can have two on Saturday. For many local seniors the Nutrition Center provides the only real meal they get.

If a senior in the county can’t get to the site to eat they can call the center and a meal will be delivered to them. Anyone 60 years old or older can eat at the center or have a home delivery for a “suggested” modest donation of $4.00 a meal. Anyone under 60 years old can eat at the center for $7.10 a meal.

People who wish to donate to the center may do so by visiting the site Monday through Saturday between 8:00am and 1:00pm or by attending the benefit soup supper this weekend. Donations are always welcome and appreciated.
