Breaking News: Knox Commissioners Vote To Request Criminal Investigation On Missing Money/Questionable Transactions Highlighted In Prosecutor’s Office Review
According to Presiding Knox County Commissioner Evan Glasgow, Western District Commissioner Roger Parton and Knox County Prosecuting Attorney Jo Fortney, a criminal investigation will be conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) into missing money and other questionable transactions within the office of the Knox County Prosecutor.
The following video was streamed live from the Commission’s regular public meeting on Friday morning, May 22,2015, just minutes after the Commission met in closed session to discuss the matter with Knox County Prosecutor Jo Fortney and Assistant Prosecutor David Brown.

This news comes on the heels of a review, conducted by the State Auditor’s Office, going public and highlighting a number of discrepancies within the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office found by auditors.
The review was conducted at the request of the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and highlights a number of issues found between January of 2013 and August of 2014 including missing cash, inadequate record keeping and violation of State Law.
