Lewistown Driver Pulls Into Path of Pickup

According to a report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 8:40 a.m., on Route V and Old U.S. Hwy 61, in Lewis County, Missouri,18 year old Summer L. Schlueter was driving northbound in a 2001 Nissan Sentra when she pulled into the path of and struck the 1996 Dodge 1500, which was eastbound, driven by 50 year old Jason Hapke of Maywood, Missouri.

A passenger, Macy L. Hively of Quincy, Illinois, in the Schlueter vehicle was moderately injured while Schlueter sustained only minor injuries. The Nissan was damaged extensively and moderate damage was done to the Dodge. Both occupants of the Nissan were wearing safety devices. It is unknown if Hapke was wearing a safety device.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department and the two injured were transported by private auto to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
