Highland boys basketball coach Brian Leeser informed the Edina Sentinel that he has resigned his basketball coaching duties effective at the end of the current school year.
Brian Leeser has taught at Highland for 23 seasons. Leeser said he intended to continue coaching boy’s golf and teaching at Highland.
The Cougars finished third in the Clarence Cannon Conference with a 10-16 overall record in 2016.
“Four years ago I was hired to fix discipline problems and other problems in the basketball program,” Brian Leeser said. “I feel like I have accomplished both things.”
“I felt it was time to look for other things to do,” Brian Leeser told the Edina Sentinel. No word on a possible replacement has been received.
The Palmyra boy’s basketball job is currently open as well.
WGEM sports reported that former Missouri Basketball Coaches Association President Brian Meny has been relieved of his coaching duties by the Palmyra district.
