Filing for County Office is Closed, Three More Candidates Sign Up in Knox

Filing for the Knox County offices of Eastern District Commissioner, Western District Commissioner, Sheriff, Assessor, Coroner and Public Administrator officially ended on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.

Three more candidates filed during the last two days of filing.

According to the Knox County Deputy Clerk Stephanie Benedict:

On Monday morning, March 28, 2016 Matthew Kriegshauser (D) filed for the office of Public Administrator. He will face incumbent Theresa Allen-Hamlin (R) in the November General Election.

*corrected: On Monday afternoon, March 28, 2016 Alan Rimer (D) filed for the office of Coroner. He will face incumbent Jeff Doss (D) in the August Primary Election. James Hamlin (R) has also signed up for the Coroner seat and will face the Primary Election winner in the November General Election.

On Tuesday afternoon, March 29, 2016 Robert Becker (R) filed for the office of Sheriff. He will face Ryan Bishop (R) in the August Primary Election. Carl Knoche (D) and incumbent Allen Gudehus (D) have also signed up for the Sheriff seat.
