Vehicle Fire on State Route P Northwest of Edina: VIDEO

On Wednesday morning, April 27, 2016, at approximately 9:35 a.m. volunteer firefighters from the Edina and Baring Fire Departments responded to a vehicle fire on State Route P approximately two miles northwest of Edina.

Upon arriving, flames could be seen engulfing a flatbed pickup truck, which was located at the entrance of a field occupied by several dozen head of cattle.

According to fire personnel, the truck was being driven by Davin York of Edina.

DSC_0705It is believed the truck was stuck in the mud, overheated and caught fire.

Cattle ShowNo one was injured in the fire, nor were any cattle harmed, though, they did seem to be quite curious about all the excitement.

The eastbound lane of State Route P was closed during the firefight.
