MSHP Releases Lewis County Accident Reports

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, four people were involved in automobile accidents over the long 4th of July weekend.

ON June 30, 2016, at 9:40 a.m., on Route b one mile south of LaGrange, 17 year old, Makenzee M. Bradley of Hannibal, Missouri, was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant southbound when it traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking an embankment and overturned.  The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Ace Elder Towing of Canton.  The MSHP was assisted at the scene by the LaGrange Police Dept., LaGrange Fire and Rescue, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Dept. and MoDOT.

ON July 2, 2016 at 8:35 a.m., in Marion County, Missouri, on MO 168, five miles west of Palmyra, a 2000 Chevy Blazer driven by 17 year-old driver Brock J. Smith of Maywood, was totaled when the eastbound vehicle ran off the road, overturned and came to rest off of the roadway.  The passenger, 17 year-old Preston W. Lay of Palmyra, and the driver received moderate injuries. Both were taken by Marion County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.  The vehicle was towed from the scene by Roberts Towing.  The MSHP was assisted at the scene by Marion County Sheriff’s Dept., and the Palmyra Fire Dept.

ON July 2, 2016, the MSHP reported that at 11:50 p.m., on U.S. Hwy 61, four miles south of Canton, in Lewis County, Missouri, Marcus A. Booker, age 31, of St. Louis, Missouri, a pedestrian, was the driver of a vehicle involved in separate crash at same location.

After exiting the accident vehicle, Booker was then struck by a northbound vehicle, a 2013 Peterbilt driven by 63 year-old Michael A. Edmunds of West Burlington, Iowa.  Booker sustained serious injuries and was transported by Lewis County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.  The Peterbilt had minor damage and was driven from the scene.  The MSHP was assisted at the scene by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Dept., Lewis County Ambulance, LaGrange Police Dept., and LaGrange First Responders.
