Vehicle Defect Cause Of Accident Involving Brashear Man

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, on September 17, 2016 at 10:10 a.m. on Dogwood Lane, three miles south of Kirksville, Missouri, a vehicle defect was the cause for a one vehicle accident in Adair County.

A 1997 Dodge Ram driven by 29 year old Eric S. Claybrook of Gibbs, Missouri, was extensively damaged as it traveled westbound off of the right side of the roadway, over-corrected several times and the vehicle overturned.  It was reported that the driver was not wearing a safety device and had no insurance.

A passenger in the vehicle, Mikel J. Mason was not wearing a safety device and was moderately injured and was taken by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

The MSHP was assisted at the scene by Anesi Towing of Kirksville, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office and Adair County Ambulance.
