Two Injured in Crash on Highway 6 East of Edina

Edina, MO – A two vehicle crash occurred about two miles east of Edina on Highway 6 at the entrance to the Knox County R-1 School District at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018.
A 2004 Chrysler Concorde sedan being driven by Sarah Benedict, 32, of Knox City, traveling west on Highway 6 collided with a 2005 Ford Freestyle sport utility vehicle being driven by Kim Miller, 45, of Knox City, who was leaving the school.
Both drivers were moderately injured in the crash.
Benedict was wearing a seat belt. Miller was not.
Miller was taken by helicopter by the Air Evac Team to the Northeast Regional Hospital in Kirksville after being freed from the vehicle by the Knox County Rescue Squad using the Jaws of Life.
Benedict was taken by Knox County Ambulance to the Northeast Regional Hospital.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Knox County Ambulance District, Knox County Rescue Squad, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Edina Police Department, Edina Volunteer Fire Department and Air Evac Team Responded to the call.
