Box Truck Driver Loses Control, Ends Up in Woods – VIDEO


A box truck was demolished after crashing into dense woods in rural Knox County. The driver walked away.

Michael L. Wolfe, 32, of Newton, IA was not injured in a crash in western Knox County on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at around noon.

Wolfe was northbound on Highway 11 approximately 1.5 miles east of the Adair County line when he hit the side of a bridge, lost control of the vehicle and left the right side of the roadway. Wolfe was driving a 2018 Freightliner Box Truck.

The box truck went down an embankment and into woods near the highway striking several trees along the way, which mangled the front end of the truck and ripped open the cargo container which held a load of tires.

Fortunately, Wolfe was wearing his seat belt. He was not injured in the crash.

The box truck was a total loss, according to information provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Knox County Ambulance District, Knox County Rescue Squad, Baring Volunteer Fire Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office and MSHP responded to the call.
