Storm Damage in Edina PHOTOS + VIDEO

A few Edina residents woke up to find tree damage on the northwest side of town, which is believed to have happened during a heavy downpour on Friday evening, July 13, 2018.

Several trees along North Cottey Street, within about a 50 to 70-yard radius, were snapped or uprooted. Residents near the damage didn’t notice anything during the storm, which took place just before dark.

A meteorologist for the National Weather Service office in St. Louis was unaware of any damage in or around Edina Saturday morning, but will look into it.

According to data collected by the Nemonews Weather Station, which is located one block east of the Edina Town Square, 1.29 inches of rain fell in Edina on July 13 and wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour were measured, however, the weather station is not located near the storm damage. This video was recorded on North Main Street in Edina at approximately 5:08 p.m. during the storm on Friday, July 13.
