Knox County R-1 School Board Appoints New Board Member, Approves Five Day School Week – Meeting VIDEO

Edina, MO – The Knox County R-1 School Board met in regular session on Tuesday evening, March 19, 2019. During the meeting the board interviewed three candidates interested in filling an open board seat.

Those interviewed were Martha Gudehus, Kim Jansen and Sheree Prebe.

Each candidate was asked why they wanted to fill the vacancy and about any experience they have.

The board chose to appoint Sheree Prebe, after the interview process was complete. Prebe was immediately sworn-in to office by KCR-1 Superintendent Andy Turgeon and was able to vote on the final agenda item – a calendar for the 2019-20 school year.

The other candidates were thanked for their willingness to be on the board and asked to run for election next year when three board seats will be up for re-election.

Look for a story about the process in an upcoming edition of The Edina Sentinel.
