First Annual Knox County Day in the Park to be Held on June 8th

Planning for the First Annual Knox County Day in the Park event has been underway for the past year, thanks to Deb Melendez of Baring, MO.

The Day in the Park will be held at the Miller Friendship Park on South Main Street and East Reid Street in Edina on Saturday, June 8, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Entertainment for the event will include the band Southbound and Heuer DJ Services.

A free-will donation barbecue will also be held during the event along with raffles and games for children.

At the end of the event, a drawing will be held to help support parks in Knox County.

“We will be placing six Knox County towns in a drawing,” said event organizer Deb Melendez. “At the end of the evening, we will draw the name of a town that will receive the proceeds from this event for new park equipment.”

According to Melendez the next annual Day in the Park event will support another Knox County town until all of the towns have benefitted.

Melendez credits local farmers and area businesses for making the event possible.
