Liberty, Illinois took an 18-7 first quarter lead in their December 18, 2019 Rumble on the River game with Knox County and rolled to a 65-29 win. The Liberty Eagles reeled off a decisive 28-4 second quarter run to a 48-11 halftime lead.
Trent Klocke led Knox County with 12 points. Rylan Roberts scored six points. Jacob Becker scored four points. Conner Hayes put in three points. Braydon Miller added two points. Obert led Liberty with 13 points.
Liberty won the girls game by a final score of 38-27. Knox County started off well, taking an 11-7 first quarter lead. The Lady Eagles outscored Liberty 8-5 in the second quarter for a 19-12 halftime lead.
Liberty blanked Knox County by a 10-0 margin in the third quarter for a 22-19 lead. Liberty wound up outscoring Knox County 26-8 in the second half for a 38-27 victory.
Riley Strange scored 14 Knox County points. Alyssa Peavler put in seven points. Kylee Woods scored four points. Jaiden Linebaugh tallied two points and Daniela Dooley added one point.
Taryn Roe scored 13 Liberty points. Paige Knuffman and Allison Coonrod scored six Liberty points each.
