Brandon Jochimsen and Garrett Housman scored 23 points each, leading seventh seeded Brashear to a 75-73 overtime win in the January 15, 2020 championship semifinal round of the 60th Annual Milan Tournament.
The win set Brashear up to face top seeded Milan in the tournament championship game. The Tigers led 36-30 at intermission. Marceline roared back with 17 third quarter points, pulling within a 48-47 deficit after three quarters.
The teams went to overtime tied at 67 points each. Luke Abela scored all six Marceline points in the extra session. Brandon Jochimsen put in four overtime points. Austin Peterson and Quin Allen sank a basket each in overtime for the win.
Austin Peterson scored 20 Brashear points. Quin Allen scored seven and Cody Mallett added two Brashear Tiger points.
Luke Abela led all scorers with 24 Marceline points. Will Heller fired in 22 points. Wyatt Molley scored ten points, all in the second half. Carlos Valdez added eight points.
Brashear took a 66-45 win in the girls consolation semifinals over Bucklin/Macon County. Hannah Grissom fired in 24 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Kynleigh White scored 19 Tiger points, with four rebounds, three assists and four steals. Alexa Higgins was in double figures with 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals. Tanna Garlock scored six points with five boards.
