South Shelby (6-6) outscored Knox County in each of the first two quarters of their January 13, 2020 home game with the Lady Eagles, taking a 36-27 halftime lead. Knox County came back with a 13-9 third quarter run but the Lady Bird lead was too much to overcome in a 61-57 South Shelby win.
Riley Strange led all scorers with 33 Knox County points. Alyssa Peavler tossed in 12 points. Kylee Woods and Kinsley Johnson put in four points each. Daniela Dooley and Jaiden Linebaugh scored two points each.
South Shelby took advantage of first half turnovers for a 21-14 first quarter lead. The Lady Eagles played the Lady Birds closer in the second quarter but trailed by a 36-27 margin at the half.
Knox County outscored their hosts 30-25 in the second half. Mallory Wood and Kaylee Gaines led South Shelby with 15 points each. Miranda Patterson scored ten points. Emma Dovin scored eight Lady Bird points.
