The Legacy of Edina’s Dental Office Continues

Earlier this month, Dr. Lisa Bosch, DMD, MPH, announced she has purchased the dental office in Edina digging into Knox County and Northeast Missouri for the future.
According to Bosch, of all of the places she’s lived over the past several years, Columbia, Kirksville and St. Louis, Knox County is her very favorite and she’s in it for the long haul.
Bosch worked for ten years as a dental hygienist before applying for and being accepted to the new dental school in Kirksville. She moved her family from Columbia to Kirksville for the first two years of her schooling and then to St. Louis to complete her clinical residency for two years.
After she got her degree, she signed on to be the dentist in Edina at the Kirksville Dental Group’s Knox County Dental Group office, formerly known as the lifelong practice of Dr. Robert Collinge which could be described as an Edina institution after Collinge provided dentistry to the community for generations.
“Who would ever have thought that we would get here. To have someone of her caliber is outstanding,” said Dr. Bob Collinge about Bosch taking over the practice. “That’s an emotional subject to me because I really thought we were going to have to just close the doors and end the practice in Edina. It’s hard to find someone who wants to come to a small town. It’s unbelievable. Not only is she a really nice person – she’s good. She’s a really good dentist. We got someone of her caliber who just loves being here. People don’t realize how rare that is.”
Bosch oversees a staff of five and has implemented a new price list and self created type of insurance program to help make dental care more affordable to rural communities.
“This is where I want to be,” said Dr. Lisa Bosch. “My family loves it here.”
“The truth is, it’s nothing I did. You know what the answer is. It was an absolute God thing. There is no worldly reason that a young dentist just starting out would come to a small town like this,” said Collinge. “That’s how I got here.”
Since taking over the practice, Bosch has dropped “Group” from the name and dubbed her practice “Knox County Dental”. The office is located at 107 North Main Street in Edina on the west side of the Edina Town Square.
