Bookends
At Sunday Night Bible Study, a good friend of mine said, “Hey, Janice, I saw those ‘Bookends’ again the other day.” Then Ruth went on to explain about three trees that change color this time every year that she likes to call ‘Bookends’; two Big Yellow Trees with a Big Red Tree in the middle.
A couple days later, while traveling down the highway, I saw the ‘Bookends’ Ruth was talking about. There they were, three trees beyond the cornfield, Two Big Yellow trees and a Big Red Tree in the middle and I couldn’t help ponder, “O Lord, What a Beautiful reminder of Calvary’s Cross!”
“And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand and the other on the left. Then, said Jesus, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”
