O Little Town of Bethlehem
While waiting at a bank teller window, I saw several Christmas Ornaments on a shelf, my favorite: a snowman with a blue hat and scarf, holding a sign, “Let It Snow!”
Then, a Casey’s cup caught my heart, a red city surrounding it reminding me of a favorite Christmas song, “O Little Town of Bethlehem.”—Phillips Brooks.
And, I pondered, “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship Him.”—Matthew 2:1-2.
And, I rejoiced in worship and song, “Oh, Star of Wonder, Star of Night, Star of Royal Beauty, westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect light.”—John Hopkins, Jr.
