On the Brighter Side

WINTER

The air is cold and bites the nose, fingers and toes. New snow covers everything. Every little twig, wire and weed is outlined in hoarfrost making even the most ordinary things become things of great beauty at least for a little while.

Tracks in the fresh snow reveal the activities of little mice, rabbits and birds which were largely unknown before the snow revealed their secrets. Silence reigns. The world is quiet now, but soon noises of snow plows and the scrapes of snow shovels will be heard as humans attack the beautiful but inconvenient drifts covering roads, streets and driveways.

Enjoy these fleeting moments of sheer beauty and save them in your heart ready to be pulled forth on one of those future days that try our souls.
