Scarves, Hats and Gloves to be Left at Courthouse Courtyard for Anyone Who Needs Them
By Echo Menges
The Knox County Clothes Closet is encouraging people to leave scarves, hats and gloves in the courtyard of the Knox County Courthouse in Edina for anyone who needs them beginning this week.
Scarves may be tied around trees. Gloves and hats may be left on park benches.
Clothes Closet volunteers and Knox County Commissioners will meet in the courtyard this Friday morning around 10:00 a.m. to tie scarves to trees and leave pairs of glove and warm winter hats for citizens to have and use during the coldest months of the year.
The inspiration for this program came from Quincy, IL, where a similar practice is observed at Washington Park.
