KENNETH SHUGART

  Kenneth Shugart, 84, of Bradley, Illinois, formally of LaBelle, Missouri, died January 21, 2021, at his home in Bradley with his wife, Katherine, by his side.

  Ken was born January 22, 1936, the son of the late Orval and Mildred Gidney Shugart.

  Ken married Mary Katherine Florea on November 30, 1961, at the LaBelle Christian Church.

  He is survived by his wife Katherine; son, Mark (Connie) Shugart of Chatham, IL; daughter, Nancy (Mike) Mesenbring of Bourbonnais, IL; four grandchildren, Joshua (Christine) Shugart of Chatham, IL, Angela Epping of Jacksonville IL, Alyssa (Julio) Garcia of Kankakee, Brianna Mesenbring of Bourbonnais; granddaughter in-law, Melissa Mesenbring; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Isaac and Cora Shugart, Gavin and Braylon Epping, and Cadence and Jack Mesenbring; and several nieces and nephews including his devoted nephew, Robbie (Cindy) Shugart.

  Preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert; and his grandson, Derek Mesenbring.

  Ken graduated from LaBelle High School class of 1954. He played basketball throughout his high school years. After high school Ken attended college in Kirksville and worked in Quincy until being called to serve his country. He served in the Army and Army Reserves from 1958 to 1964.  He graduated from Gem City College in 1961. Ken retired from Oscar Mayer after working as an accountant for 26 years. After retirement he became a fulltime golfer, He had many interests, but most dear to him was time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grand-children.

  Visitation followed by a memorial service will be held on February 20th from 10:30-11:30, at Coder Chapel, LaBelle, MO.
