MARGARET SCHEMPP KINCAID
Margaret Elizabeth (Schempp) Kincaid, age 98, of LaBelle, Missouri, formerly of Edina and Brashear, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021, in LaBelle Manor.
Born May 30, 1922, in Knox County, Missouri, Margaret was the daughter of Lester and Clara Strickler Chadwell. She was united in marriage to Robert Kenneth Schempp on January 12, 1941 and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1980. She later married Lester Kincaid on January 22, 1999 and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2001. Margaret was also preceded by her parents, and one daughter, Evelyn Hopkins.
Surviving are three children, Marjorie Montague of Columbia, MO, Shirley (Keith) Stokes of Quincy, IL, and Jimmie Schempp of LaBelle, MO, two step children, Nancy (James) Thomas of Kansas City, MO, and Carol Kincaid of Macon, MO, ten grandchildren, Ray (Cheryl) Montague, Jeanne Fudge, Lori Montague, Larry (Shirley) Hopkins, Jeff Hopkins, Chris Hopkins, Bryan (Brooke) Stokes, Stacy (Michael) Melton, Dustin (Alexa) Schempp and Jason (Raquel) Schempp, thirteen great-grandchildren, Sami Hopkins, Lauren Hopkins, Ory fudge, Dakota Fudge, Mandy Wilson, Kelsey Gash, Anna Stokes, Sydney Stokes, Luke Stokes, Grace Stokes, Madison McCarty, Asher Schempp and Jerzee Schempp, twenty-three great-great grandchildren and six step grandchildren.
Margaret and her husband owned and operated Schempp’s Café in Edina from 1958 to 1968. She and her husband were also engaged in farming north of Brashear for several years. In earlier years she also worked at Hollister’s in Kirksville, MO. Margaret enjoyed cards, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a member of the LaPlata Methodist Church.
Pastor Carlos Coy will officiate the private funeral services, which will be held in the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers will be Bryan Stokes, Dustin Schempp, Jason Schempp, Ray Montague, Larry Hopkins and Jeff Hopkins.
