Daisy “Catherine” Weldon, 92, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away at 10:25 am Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Barry Community Care Center in Barry, Illinois.
A Graveside Service was held Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy. Rev. Carl R. Terry III will officiate.
Catherine was born January 27, 1929, in Edina, Missouri, to Theodore and Christina Ardella (Reid) Robinson.
She was married to Creighton Weldon Jr. on February 7, 1946 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2019.
Survivors include two children, Creighton Weldon III (Janice) and Edith A. Weldon Finney (Presiding Elder W. Bartalette); five grandchildren: Antoinette Bernard (Terrance), Monica Yates (Brian), Carter Mallory Jr., Carrissa L. Mallory, and Denise Lewis (Patrick); 15 great-grandchildren, and 28 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are special nephews, Clarence Clark Jr. and Greg Clark (Jane); a special niece, Janet Arthur; a special cousin, Gilberta Baily; as well as other nephews, nieces, and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Russell Robinson and Reid Robinson; two sisters, Beatrice Glenn and Violet McNeal; one grandson, Creighton Nkrumah Weldon IV; and one nephew, Terry Douglas.
Catherine was a homemaker. She was very devoted to her faith. She was a lifetime member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and Bethel African Methodist Church of Quincy.
