Knox County hosted the seven team Knox County Relays varsity track and field meet on April 29, 2021. Highland, Knox County, Marion County, Monroe City, North Shelby, Salisbury and Schuyler County.
Highland won five boys and two girls events. Knox County won five boys events and the girls javelin competition. Jennifer Hinkle established a personal best and new school record with a 33.90 meter toss.
Caroline Linberger won the girls long jump and won the girls 100m dash silver medal. Whitney Shinn ran a 13.20 second 100 meters for the gold medal. Team results were unavailable.
Top six boys results included Tommy Job winning the 100m dash for Highland in 10.70 seconds. Drew Mallett took the silver medal in 10.90 seconds. Branson Miller was fifth for Knox County in 11.80 seconds.
Devin Stutsman won the boys 200m dash gold medal for Highland in a personal best 23.80 seconds. Jacob Becker ran a personal best 24.10 second 200 meters for the bronze medal. Branson Miller was fourth in 24.60 seconds. Keaton Strange was fifth for Knox County in 25.90 seconds.
Josiah Talton won the boys 400 meters in 53.30 seconds. Austin Jansen took the silver medal for Knox County in 54.40 seconds.
Kabott Harlan won the boys 1600 meters for Monroe City in 5:05 seconds. Collin Hayes ran a personal best 5:19 second time for Knox County, claiming the silver medal. Sterling Lair was sixth for Highland in 5:40.30 seconds.
Logan Lucas won the boys 3200 meter run for Monroe City in 10:37 seconds. Elliot Ogden was fourth for Knox County in 12:26.80 seconds. Matthew Sly took fifth for Highland in 12:44 seconds.
Knox County senior Coltin Morrow swept the boys hurdle events. Morrow won the boys 110m hurdles in 15.60 seconds. Robert Goehl won a Highland silver medal in 17 seconds flat.
Coltin Morrow won the boys 300m hurdles in 41.90 seconds. Robert Goehl was second in 43 seconds flat.
Tommy Job, Robert Goehl, Cameron Bringer and Drew Mallett won the boys 4x100m relay for Highland in 45 seconds flat. Cameron Bringer, Devin Stutsman, Tommy Job and Drew Mallett completed the Highland sprint relay sweep in 1:32.60 seconds, winning the boys 4x200m relay.
Conner Hayes, Branson Miller, Coltin Morrow and Bryston Bowen won Knox County boys 800m relay bronze medals in 1:37.90 seconds.
Colt Morrow, Conner Hayes, Jacob Becker and Austin Jansen won the boys’ 4x400m relay for Knox County in 3:41.90 seconds. Jacob Becker, Nelson Shinkle, Bryston Bowen and Collin Hayes struck gold in the boys 4x800m relay in 9:40.80 seconds.
Hayden Dixon won the boys shot put for Schuyler County in 14.29 meters. Shon Stark had a personal best, silver medal Highland heave of 41.14 meters. Matthew Carlson was fourth for Knox County at 11.18 meters.
Joshua Talton won the boys discus for Monroe City at a personal best 44.81 meters. Shon Stark turned in a personal best 41.14 meters for the silver medal. Matthew Carlson was fourth in the discus at 30.89 meters.
Cameron Bringer won the boys javelin gold medal for Highland at 39.03 meters. Jacob Becker established a personal best 1.90 meter height, winning the boys high jump. Cameron Bringer took a Highland bronze medal at 1.80 meters. Nelson Shinkle cleared at a personal best 1.75 meters, taking fourth in the high jump for Knox County. Brandon Holder was fourth for the Cougars at 1.65 meters.
Grant Biere won the boys long jump for Salisbury at 5.55 meters. Brandon Holder won the silver medal for Highland at 5.33 meters. Branson Miller won a Knox County bronze medal at 5.22 meters. Noah Jones took fourth for Highland at 5.20 meters.
Girls final results included Whitney Shinn winning the girls 100m dash for North Shelby in 13.20 seconds. Caroline Linberger was second for the Lady Raiders in 13.40 seconds. Madison Kessler won a Highland bronze medal in a personal best 13.90 seconds. Amelia Tasco placed fifth for Highland in 14.30 seconds.
Jacie Morris won the girls 200m dash for Schuyler County in 27 seconds flat. Whitney Shinn and Caroline Linberger both turned in medal winning personal best times. Shinn won the silver medal in 27.50 seconds. Linberger won the bronze medal in 28.10 seconds.
Ali Reed won a Highland fifth place finish at 28.40 seconds. Marissa Abell finished sixth for the Lady Cougars in the girls 200 meters in 29.30 seconds.
Jacie Morris won the girls 400m dash for Schuyler County in 61.80 seconds. Whitney Shinn took third for North Shelby in a personal best 1:03.40 seconds. Caroline Linberger was fifth in 65.1 seconds. Morgan Keith took sixth for Highland at 1:09 seconds.
Delaney Straus won the girls 800 meter event for Marion County in 2:29.80 seconds. Emma Harshberger was sixth for Highland in 2:57.40 seconds. Delaney Straus won the girls 1600 meters in 5:36.50 seconds. Alexis Vaughn took fifth for Highland in 6:59.50 seconds.
Ella Hays won the girls 3200m run for Monroe City in 13:18.40 seconds. Kaycie Stahl won a Highland bronze medal in 14.30 seconds. Carlie Davis was fourth for the Lady Cougars at 15:27 seconds.
Carlie Youngblood won the girls 100 meter hurdles for Monroe City in 17.20 seconds. Summer Goings won a Highland silver medal in a personal best 17.70 seconds. Lexie Birt won the girls 300m hurdles for Monroe City in 49.80 seconds. Ansley Bringer won a Highland bronze medal in a personal best 53.90 seconds.
Ansley Bringer, Summer Goings, Ali Reed and Mikayla Dreyer won the girls 4x100m relay for Highland in 53.20 seconds. Zoe Barrick, Marissa McEwen, Gracie vonThun and Layne Parshall took fifth for North Shelby in 63 seconds flat.
Salisbury won the girls 4x200m relay in 1:24.40 seconds. Marissa Abell, Ansley Bringer, Mikayla Dreyer and Ali Reed were second for Highland in 1:55.30 seconds. Abigail Becker, Emma Parrish, Savannah Schrage and Jennifer Hinkle placed fifth for Knox County in 2:09.30 seconds.
Monroe City won the girls 4x400m relay in 4:25.90 seconds. Morgan Keith, Summer Goings, Ella Wenneker and Trinity Wright won Highland silver medals in 4:34.30 seconds.
Monroe City won the girls 4x800m relay in 10:42.10 seconds. Morgan Keith, Alexis Vaughn, Kaycie Stahl and Emma Harshberger won Lady Cougar bronze medals in 11:25.30 seconds.
Kaitlyn Hatfield won the girls shot put and discus events for Schuyler County. Cassidy Goodwin won a Knox County shot put bronze medal at 9.47 meters. Amy Goacher was listed sixth for Highland at 9.07 meters.
Dallis Dare won a Highland bronze medal with a 29.99 meter toss in the girls discus. Abigail Becker took fifth for Knox County at 26.05 meters.
Jennifer Hinkle fired the Javelin 33.90 seconds for a new Knox County school record, winning the girls javelin gold medal. Olivia Ritterbusch won the bronze for Highland at 29.45 meters.
Ansley Bringer and Mikayla Dreyer cleared at 1.42 meters for a top two finish in the girls high jump. Bringer was awarded the gold and Dreyer the silver medal on a tie breaker.
Caroline Linberger won the girls long jump for North Shelby at 4.68 meters. Whitney Shinn won the girls triple jump for the Lady Raiders in 9.82 meters.
