JANET SUE MOORE

Janet Sue Moore, age 84, of Baring, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021, at the home of her daughter in Baring, Missouri.

Born June 14, 1936, in Knox County, Missouri, Janet was the daughter of Stephen G. and Mary L. Schlepphorst Mayer. She was united in marriage to Ronald F. Moore on October 13, 1956, and he preceded her in death on March 7, 1976. Janet was also preceded by her parents; five sisters, Marguerite Gregory, Geneva Henthorne, Elizabeth Menke, Phyllis Mayer and Norma Mayer; two brothers, Steven and Paul A. (Bud) Mayer; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Marie Moore; step mother-in-law, Mary Kimble Moore; one granddaughter-in-law, Erin Peacock; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Leroy Gregory, Leroy (Gus) Henthorne, Eddie (Jack) Menke, Rose Mayer and Shirley Mayer.

Surviving are four children, Suzanna (Gary) Downing of Baring, MO, Susan (Steve) Blodgett of Baring, MO, Ronald (Jane) Moore of Edina, MO and Brent Moore and fiancée Chris of Hurdland, MO; one sister-in-law, Ruth Mayer of Kirksville, MO; grandchildren, Jeremy Blodgett (Emily) of Chicago, Christopher Blodgett of Kirksville, Shannon Downing of Baring, Michelle Buhr (Jake) of Union, Deidre Overstreet (Nathan) of Baring, Dakota Downing of Baring, Cody Moore (Sadie) of Baring, and Matthew Moore serving in the US Army; great-grandchildren, Jacob Buhr, Lucas Buhr, Kayden Moore, Kameron Moore, Kelsey Moore, Tatum Overstreet, Koltyn Moore and Heather Overstreet, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janet was raised in Baring, Missouri, and graduated from Baring High School. She moved to the farm when she and Ronald were married. She enjoyed being a farm wife and mother. She continued to live on the farm after her husband died and lived there helping with the farming operation until she retired to Baring in 1992. She was a city girl who loved the farm.

Janet enjoyed time spent with all her family especially when the whole family could be together. Janet enjoyed attending school and church activities involving her children and grandchildren as well as sudoku and puzzle books and scratch off lottery tickets. She could also be found many days visiting with friends at the IDK Café in Baring where she was affectionately known as “Grandma” to all.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baring, MO. Father Simeon Etonu will officiate assisted by Reverend Ken Berry. Music will be provided by Lisa Bowen and Katie Delaney. Burial will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery with Dicky Bowen, Russell Schultz, Richard Clark, Billie Early, Leon James and Clayton Kline as casket bearers and Richard Witherow, Bucky Bowen, Delbert Stoner, Paul Walsh and Kevin Moore as honorary casket bearers.

A prayer service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2021, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
