Conference rivals Novinger and Brashear battled through an even first inning during September 11, 2021 Milan Tournament pool play. The Lady Tigers scored twice in the second and third innings for a 6-2 victory.
Aubrey Borgmeyer and Kynleigh White walked and scored on a Lacey Fisher double for their opening tallies. Kelsey Frederick reached on an error and scored. Abby Fountain doubled and scored, tying the contest at two all.
Paige Stutsman walked leading off the Tiger second inning. Mackenzie Baker was hit by a pitch. Novinger executed a double play on a line drive to first base. Stutsman scored on an error.
Aubrey Borgmeyer singled. Kynleigh White and Lacey Fisher singled, driving Borgmeyer home for a 4-2 Brashear lead.
Alexa Borgmeyer was hit by a pitch with one out in the Brashear third. Mackenzie Baker singled. Cassidy Althide singled for Brashear. Aubrey Borgmeyer and Kynleigh White singled for the second straight inning.
Makenzie Baker scored the sixth Tiger tally. Novinger threw a Brashear runner at the plate to end the inning. Sheridan Howe tripled for Novinger in the Wildcat third inning but was stranded.
Brashear advanced to play North Shelby in the third place game. The Lady Raiders took the third place award with a 2-0 win.
Novinger scored two runs on five hits. Five different Lady Wildcats had a hit each. Zoe O’Neal pitched four innings for Novinger, striking out four with four walks on eight hits. The six Brashear runs were earned.
Brashear scored six runs on eight hits. Aubrey Borgmeyer and Kynleigh White went 2-2 at the plate. White drove in two Brashear runs. Lacey Fisher was 2-3 at bat with an RBI. Cassidy Althide pitched for Brashear, going the four inning distance. Althide struck out three batters with two walks on five hits. The two Wildcat runs were unearned.
