Kirksville (12-5-1) scored a single run in the first inning then added four more insurance runs in the sixth inning for a 5-0 win over Highland in September 16, 2021 varsity softball play at Kirksville.
Sophie Stuart went the seven inning distance for Kirksville with eight strikeouts on two hits and one walk. Madi McCarty was 2-4 with two runs batted in and a run scored leading the Lady Tigers to the win.
Sophie Stuart and Jada Jackson were 2-3 at bat for Kirksville. Jackson had a run scored. Kirksville scored five runs on eight hits.
Highland was blanked on two hits. Emma Harshberger was 2-3 for the Lady Cougars. Payton Miller pitched all six innings for Highland with five strikeouts, one walk on eight hits. One of the five Kirksville runs was earned.
Kirksville won the JV game by a final score of 19-6.
