Brashear (3-3, 3-2) challenged Northeast Missouri diamond power La Plata, taking a 4-2 lead when Carson Erwin and Jace Snelling blasted home runs with one out in the bottom of the third inning.
Reese Mesecher reached base in all five plate appearances, scoring five runs leading La Plata to a 14-4 victory in September 17, 2021 conference baseball play at Brashear. The Bulldogs improved to 6-3 overall, 2-0 in the conference.
Reese Mesecher walked and scored on a base hit for a one run La Plata first inning edge. Mesecher singled and scored on a Kaden Safley hit in the third inning for a two run lead.
Avery Zentz led off the Brashear third inning with a base hit. Nate Triplett was hit by a pitch. Carson Erwin solved Reese Mesecher for a three run homer and a one run Brashear lead.
Jace Snelling followed with another home run and a 4-2 lead after three innings. Brashear held their two run lead through a scoreless fourth inning. The Bulldogs got their offense rolling when Reese Mesecher singled with one down in the top of the fifth inning.
Drew Wheeler and Cooper Noah reached base. Cutter St. Clair and L Arbuckle singled for La Plata. The Bulldogs led by a 5-4 margin after five full innings.
The power laden La Plata lineup erupted for six runs in their sixth inning. Cutter St. Clair and Tucker Beautte highlighted the rally with Bulldog home runs. La Plata tacked three more runs on the board when Reese Mesecher doubled leading off the seventh inning.
Drew Wheeler doubled Mesecher home. Cooper Noah drilled a two run homer for the 14-4 win. La Plata scored 14 runs on 14 hits.
Reese Mesecher was 3-3 at bat for La Plata with five runs scored. Tucker Beautte and Drew Wheeler had a hit and two RBIs each. Cooper Noah was 2-5 with a home run, four RBI’s and three runs scored.
Cutter St. Clair was 3-4 with a run scored, a home run and five RBI’s. Reese Mesecher pitched the seven inning distance for La Plata with 17 strikeouts, no walks on three hits. The four Brashear runs were earned.
Brashear scored four runs on three hits. Carson Erwin had a home run and three RBIs. Jace Snelling had a home run and an RBI. Avery Zentz had the remaining Tiger hit.
Jace Snelling pitched four and a third innings with six strikeouts and five walks on four hits. Five runs charged to the Tiger starter were earned.
Brandon Jochimsen pitched an inning and 2/3 with three strikeouts, two walks on eight hits and seven runs. John Higgins walked two and allowed two hits. Jack Reeves pitched the final inning with two strikeouts.
