Brashear scored three times in the top of the seventh inning, sending their September 3, 2021 Tri-County Conference baseball opener at Linn County to extra innings. The Tigers put three more runs on the board in the top half of the ninth inning for a 10-7 win.
Carson Erwin and Brandon Jochimsen doubled in the top of the ninth. Jack Reeves drove home a run. Lane Stutsman scored on a double steal. Carson Erwin pitched around a ninth inning walk for the win.
Lane Stutsman gave Brashear a one run lead in the top of the first inning. Stutsman grounded to the infield, scoring Carson Erwin. The Mustangs three times in the first inning. Mason Small doubled and scored on an error to tie the contest at one all.
Jakob Hollon hit a two run homer for the 3-1 edge after one full inning. Brandon Jochimsen drove Carson Erwin home, pulling the Tigers back within a run. Connor Murrell answered with a home run off Tiger hurler Brandon Jochimsen, making the score 4-2 Mustangs after three complete innings.
The teams exchanged single tallies in the fifth inning. Jace Snelling reached Jakob Hollon for a Brashear home run, bringing the Tigers back within a run. Silas Dodd answered in kind with a fifth inning Linn County long ball.
Linn County led 5-3 after five innings. Lucas Keller came through with a two out RBI hit in the Tiger sixth inning, scoring Jack Reeves. Carson Erwin came in to pitch in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Mason Small drove Cooper Ballinger home for the first Mustang run of the sixth inning. Silas Dodd reached on an error, allowing Connor Murrell to score. Linn County held a 7-4 lead entering the seventh inning.
Cooper Ballinger came in to pitch for Linn County in the seventh inning. Jakob Hollon pitched six innings for Linn County. Hollon struck out five with one walk on eight hits. Four runs were charged to the Mustang starter, two earned.
Jack Snelling singled leading off the Tiger seventh inning. Carson Erwin drew a walk. Brandon Jochimsen filled the bases with an infield hit. Lane Stutsman drew an RBI walk. Jack Reeves tied the game with a two RBI hit.
Silas Dodd came in to pitch for Linn County. Dodd induced a pop up. Linn County executed a double play for the first two outs of the Tiger seventh. Carson Erwin struck out the first two Mustang batters in the seventh with the game tied at seven all.
Mason Singleton drew a two out walk but was stranded. Mason Small stroked a two out, eighth inning single. Small was thrown out attempting to steal second base to tne the inning. Jace Snelling fired to Brandon Jochimsen on the play.
Brashear scored ten runs on 12 hits. Jace Snelling was 3-5 with a homer and two runs scored. Carson Erwin went 2-4 with four runs scored. Brandon Jochimsen was 3-5 batting with two runs scored and two batted in. Jack Reeves was 3-5 with three RBI’s and a run scored.
Brandon Jochimsen pitched four innings of seven hit, four run baseball. Jochimsen struck out eight with one walk. Carson Erwin pitched five innings, earning the win in relief. Erwin allowed three hits, and three runs, one earned. Carson Erwin struck out nine batters with three walks.
Linn County scored seven runs on 12 hits. Mason Small was 3-4 at bat with a run scored and another batted in. Silas Dodd and Jakob Hollon had two hits and two RBI’s each. Connor Murrell was 2-4 with a home run and two runs scored.
Silas Dodd pitched three innings with three runs on two hits. Two of the Tiger runs were earned. Dodd struck out three batters with one walk. Cooper Ballinger did not record an out. Ballinger allowed two hits and three runs, two earned with two walks.
